About the Site Palette

Every good website follows a set of rules that enforce a consistency of design throughout all of the pages.  One way to ensure that colors are the same is by using a pre-configured palette.  The palette, once set, provides all of the colors for aspects of the site that use color such as:

  • Fonts

  • Backgrounds and menu bars, etc

  • Object Configuration Forms

Before building a site in Websby, the palette must be set up with the colors that will be used, including the common ones like white and black, and the greys that are used for text and titles.  You can always add colors after your site is built, but you can't add to the site fonts or do much of anything without the basic colors being there from the start.

The image below shows the palette screen that lists all colors currently set up, and allows you to add new colors to the system.

Adding or Editing a Color

Adding a color is simple.

Once the New / Edit Color form opens, enter a title or short description.

If you know your color's Hex value, you can simply type or paste it in to the New Color form's color field.

Otherwise, you can use the color picker to find your color and the value will be put into the field automatically.

Click on "Save" and you're done!
